Command Center 2: Fully Outfitted Mobile Ops Hub
A second mobile unit was purchased and fully converted into a self-sustaining field operations center. Designed and built by Cody and key team members, the unit features solar power, a 5kWh battery system, televisions, water supply, bathroom, and remote workstation capabilities — redefining how and where Porche Aerial could operate.
Official Rebrand and Final Logo
Porche Aerial completed its official rebrand, refining the company logo to more clearly represent both a bird and a camera. This updated design better captured the essence of what the company stands for and aligned with its long-term vision. From this point forward, the business formally operated under the name Porche Aerial (dropped “Imagery”), and the new logo became the permanent symbol of its identity. It is the logo we use today and will continue to use moving forward.
LiDAR Services Launched
The addition of a LiDAR sensor expanded the company’s capabilities into 3D terrain modeling, volumetric analysis, and engineering-grade mapping. LiDAR became the third core service line.
Inspection Capabilities Expanded
Porche Aerial upgraded its fleet by selling off older aircraft and adopting a new industrial platform with advanced thermal and inspection payloads. This move opened the door to infrastructure assessments and high-precision industrial inspections.
Third Long-Term Contract (7+ Years)
The company secured its longest contract to date, spanning over seven years, a milestone that marked stability, trust, and operational maturity.
Cameron LNG Reaches Full Operations
This milestone marked the successful completion of one of Porche Aerial’s most significant documentation efforts. Following years of documentation and an archive of over 100,000 photos, we captured the full evolution of a mega LNG facility, showcasing the company’s consistency, attention to detail, and long-term commitment to high-level industrial work.
Second Major Contract Secured
Porche Aerial signed its second multi-year contract, reinforcing the company’s reputation for dependable service within the industrial sector.
Cinema-Grade Aerial Imaging
A new aircraft capable of recording in 6K ProRes RAW was added to the fleet. This launched Porche Aerial into high-end cinematic production for industrial and commercial clients.
First Official Logo Designed
The original Porche Aerial logo was introduced, combining the imagery of a bird and a camera lens, symbolizing the fusion of flight and photography that defined the brand.
First Command Center Acquired
The company purchased a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170” with the goal of building a mobile command center. Although the conversion was limited, the move reflected Porche Aerial’s strategic vision.
FAA Part 107 Certification
On the very first day it became available, Porche Aerial obtained FAA Part 107 certification, officially becoming a fully licensed commercial drone operator.
Mapping Services Introduced
A new aerial platform was added, allowing Porche Aerial to provide geospatial mapping in addition to aerial imagery. This marked the company’s first step into data-driven services.
First Major Contract: CLNG
Porche Aerial secured a four-year contract with Cameron LNG, formally entering the industrial and energy sectors. This was a pivotal moment in proving the business’s long-term potential.
Porche Aerial is Founded
After receiving multiple inquiries for drone work, Cody officially launched Porche Aerial. The company began taking on paid projects and establishing its name in the community.
FIRST INVESTMENT
With help from his father, Cody invested in his first professional-grade drone and accessories, totaling nearly $2,000. This purchase signaled a shift from hobbyist to aspiring aerial service provider.
The eureka moment…
It all started with a Christmas gift from his mother. After learning to fly, Cody modified the RC quadcopter, strapped a Nikon point-and-shoot to it with duct tape, and used the camera’s built-in timer to snap photos mid-flight. The first launch was chaotic, but it worked. Blurry or not, that first aerial image marked the beginning of something much bigger.
AVIATION ROOTS
Our founder, Cody Porche, has always had a deep passion for aviation. That passion took flight in 2010 when he joined Era Helicopters, working in the International Department. For the next five years, Cody supported global operations, communicating with clients across multiple countries and occasionally traveling to remote sites like Deadhorse, Alaska. He had the opportunity to fly in multi-million dollar aircraft such as the AgustaWestland AW139 and the Eurocopter EC145. These early experiences laid the groundwork for what would eventually become Porche Aerial.
